Hubby had to change the glass in a window the other day because it was damaged. The window is round and has two pieces of glass that are semi circular, with a bar across the middle:

Cleaning the old putty out after removing the damaged window:

Putting the new glass in place:

Putting the new putty in place:
Replacing the glass in a window DSC09084

Cutting the excess putty with a chisel and smoothing the surface:

Interesting. I'm going to try replacing a big pane (>1.3metres tall) in a sash window tomorrow, if it's not raining/damp with fog.

Anyone else with DIY projects to share?
